The aim of this course is to introduce you to the GBCSA rating tool for Interiors which assesses the environmental attributes of any building’s interior fit-outs.
This tool puts the power in the hands of the tenant, allowing each tenancy to have their unique environmental design initiatives fairly and independently benchmarked. The tool rewards high-performance tenant spaces that are healthy, productive places to work; are less costly to operate and maintain; and have a reduced environmental footprint.’ This tool also caters for volume certification by pre-certifying data sheets and certain specifications for fit-outs that get rolled out to several branches.
The tool Interiors has been developed cater for a broad range of tenancies, including but not limited to office, retail and hospitality fit-outs. For a full list of building types considered please refer to ‘Interiors Eligibility Criteria’.
The Interiors rating tool’s aim is to provide an objective measurement and rating of the environmental performance of the interior fit out of new or existing spaces. It shares the environmental impact areas associated with the operation of the built environment through the structure and ordered categories of the Green Star tools. This is invaluable for both those seeking certification and for those just wishing to understand how negative impacts can be radically reduced through considered policies, good management and team collaboration.
